• Work selected (Du Néant qui le Croit) by RDP (Portuguese National Radio) to represent Portugal at the UNESCO International Tribune of Composers in Paris [1995].

• Official representative of Portugal, with the MISO ENSEMBLE, at the Lusitânea exhibition at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid [1992].

• Represented Portugal at EUROPÁLIA 91 with the MISO ENSEMBLE, Belgium [1991].

• MISO ENSEMBLE chosen by the international council of the International Society for Musical Education, from amongst 300 participants from all over the world, to represent Portugal in concerts at its international conference in Helsinki [1990].

• 1st Prize for Chamber Music, with the MISO ENSEMBLE, in the Cultura e Desenvolvimento competition for performers of contemporary music, organised by the Instituto da Juventude and the Clube Português de Artes e Ideias [1989].

• “Absolute Prize” (1st prize for soloists) in the Cultura e Desenvolvimento competition for performers of contemporary music, organised by the Instituto da Juventude and the Clube Português de Artes e Ideias [1989].

• 1st Composition Prize in the Novos Valores da Cultura competition organized by the Clube Português de Artes e Ideias and by the State Department of Culture [1988].

• Scholarship awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the State Department for Youth to take part in the 3rd Composition and Interpretation of Contemporary Music Camp in Vila Franca del Bierzo (Spain), where he studied composition with Cristóbal Halffter, Tomás Marco and J. R. Encinar [1987].

• Work selected [4 Estações] to represent Portugal at the UNESCO International Tribune of Composers in Paris [1989].
